Hanshi Takeshi Tamaki
He was born on September 12, 1940. In 1955, at the age of 15, he started training in Karate under the great grandmaster, Shoshin Nagamine, the founder of Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu. In the year 1997, he was made the Chief Director of Shoshin Nagamine’s Matsubayashi Ryu organization where he remained until 2000. In the year 2000, he became a founding member of Shogen-Ryu Karate-Do, and became the Vice-President to Kensei Taba (Hanshi). That year, he held 9th Dan in Shogen-Ryu karate-do.
Kyoshi K.P. Johnson
Kyoshi K.P. Johnson, 7th Dan Black Belt, Shibu Cho for India and Director for South Asia and United Kingdom. He is a 7th Dan in Karate is awarded Shihan Title in Yamane Kisaba Ryu Kobudo by Hanshi Takeshi Tamaki. He was born in the year 1971, in Kerala (India). He started karate training at the age of 10. Received black belt in year 1984. Presently he is a 7th Dan Black Belt in Kokusai Shogen-Ryu Karate-Do, graded by Kaicho Takeshi Tamaki, in Okinawa, Japan. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in traditional karate from Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University.
Renshi Jose Francis
Renshi Jose Francis is one of the most experienced and active karate practitioners in Kerala. Born on October 9, 1962, in Kerala, he began his journey in martial arts at an early age. His initial training was in kalaripayattu during his teenage years. Inspired by classic English and Chinese action films, he started learning karate at the age of 18 in 1981 and has practiced diligently ever since. He has a keen interest in exploring advanced bunkai and kata techniques and teaching them to others. Currently, he holds a 6th Dan black belt.
